Conceived as a guitar duo with Katie Chriest, Ether was performed many times with the help of a looper containing a rhythm track and some spacey sounds. Ether comprises what might be called cut & paste orchestration, i.e., manipulating parts of the recorded song to fill out the accompanying tracks. I "stretched" the melody in the final section, like writing the notes on a rubber band, then pulling. Lots of l...o...n...g................. reverb trails!
